ARC Center http://www.comap.com/elementary/projects/arc/ The purpose of this site is to provided teacher enhancement, leadership development, and public awareness of math. The site is a great help in rebuilding curriculum based on the Ohio Standards. It also provides resources for professional development. Art of Problem Solving http://www.artofproblemsolving.com This site serves as a resource to students interested in pursuing nonroutine problem solving. Students can share their thinking in a forum area as well as take on-line classes. COMPASS http://www.ithaca.edu/compass/frames.htm This site provides the latest curriculum options for Secondary teachers. It also provides many resources and links to other sites! Eisenhower National Clearinghouse for Mathematics Education This huge site with innovative mathematics lessons for the classroom is supported by the U.S. Department of Education. In addition to lessons, it provides an on-line copy of the NCTM Standards for K-12 students, information about the TIMSS report, and resources that support equitable classroom programs. Illuminations http://illuminations.nctm.org/index.html This is an awesome site for teachers which provides lesson plans, web resources, interactive math tools, and math investigations. This site is provided by NCTM, so all of the lesson plans reflect the math standards. Mathematically Sane http://www.mathematicallysane.com/home.asp The purpose of this site is to communicate math reform. It's goal is to reform math education. It provides many resources to aid in the reform. National Council Supervisors of Mathematics (NCSM) Promotes the importance of designated mathematics leadership at all levels and provides on going experiences, information, and support to enable mathematics educators to assume leadership roles. National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) This is a great site that has an abundance of information about the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and content standards. It also offers resources, lessons, and activities by grade level. Ohio Department of Education This site provides all the contact information for Ohio Department of education. It also provides all the latest news about Ohio education. Ohio Mathematics Academic Content Standards http://www.ode.state.oh.us/academic content standards/acsmath.asp This is the latest information about the Ohio Mathematics Content Standards. It provides a printable PDF for all the standards by grade levels. Ohio Mathematics Education Leadership Council (OMELC) The purpose of this site is to enhance and extend leadership in math education in Ohio schools. It provides great articles on mathematics education. It also provides opportunities to attend conferences and a great list of web sites to help teachers enhance math education. Ohio Mathematics & Science Coalition (OMSC) OMSC provides the latest information describing math and science instruction in schools. It offers many resources and links to other great sites. It is a great site for curriculum information for math and science. Ohio Resource Center (ORC) This web site is a unique service that provides peer-reviewed, best practice web sites for educators. It's purpose is to help you enhance learning opportunities for the young people of Ohio and to provide you with ideas for teaching the high expectations found in the Ohio Academic Content Standards. The site provides many resources and lessons for mathematics educators. Reflections http://my.nctm.org/ere sources/reflections/index.htm Provided by NCTM, this site offers video based professional development. It's purpose is to help teachers both individually and collectively to examine their teaching of mathematics, and criticize themselves and reflect on classroom practices. School Science & Mathematics Association (SSMA) This is a great site that offers information about Mathematics conventions, activities that integrate math and science, a monthly journal and the latest technology reviews. Show Me Center http://www.showmecenter.missouri.edu/ This is a great site for Middle school teachers. It provides the latest curriculum with sample lesson plans. The site also offers projects and resources and links to other great middle school sites. The Math Forum The Math Forum is probably the most popular mathematics site on the Internet. This excellent site contains links to a large variety of useful advice and activities for parents and children. It contains the "Ask Dr. Math" link for help with Math problems. |

AAA Math This is a more traditional site that contains lesson-like practice and instruction, along with some games that children can play. A section is devoted to parents concerns, although most link to books from Amazon.com. A+Math This is an interactive site aimed at children improving their math skills. There is a little function to create practice worksheets and a "homework helper" that can be very useful. Math Challenges for Families http://www.figurethis.org/index40.htm Figure This! Is one of the newest Web sites available to promote mathematics at home. It is an excellent site that features "real" problems to support children's learning in the classroom and at home. This site should definitely be bookmarked on your browser. FunBrain.com This site is not only intended for Math. Aimed at Parents and Children, the Math section contains some very fun Math games that can be played as a parent/ child challenge. The parent's section contains some good links. GoMath.com This site provides automated solutions to Math problems. There is an on-line math tutor available free-of-charge, where questions can be emailed to the site. Helping Your Child Learn Math http://www.ed.gov/pubs/parents/Math/ Designed as a publication from the U.S. Department of Education, this document offers practical advice for parents on helping children in mathematics. The document describes the nature of school mathematics and provides numerous ideas for promoting math in the home. The Math Forum http://mathforum.org/students/ The Math Forum is probably the most popular mathematics site on the Internet.
